Free Gardening workshops at Woodbine Terrace
Morningside residents are being encouraged to keep themselves fit and healthy by learning new skills at free gardening workshops.
Sanctuary Housing is supporting sessions at Morningside Kitchen Garden between now and the end of May with environmental education charity ecoACTIVE.
Participants will be shown how they can grow their own fruit and vegetables to cook healthy affordable meals.
They will also get chance to develop the skills needed to maintain the garden throughout the year for the benefit of their community.
Organisers are hoping the workshops will help strengthen relationships between neighbours and build friendships for the future.
Sessions last three hours and take place at the gardens in Woodbine Terrace on Thursday 27 April and Friday 26 May from 3.30pm until 5pm. They are open to residents of all ages and abilities.
Sanctuary’s funding will also help buy a new water butt and hose pipe as well as other garden equipment.
